Cambridge

September 30, 2007

With A very nice early Autumn Sunday, we decided to visit Cambridge. Other than very grumpy Yi Hong and stuck in the traffic for almost 2 hours because of a very selfish driver carelessly or intentionally parked her car resulting blocking the only way traffic flow on a very narrow streets of Cambridge, everything else, we have enjoyed it very much, particularly the Pun-tings on river Cam. Attached some photos for your viewing pleasure.

Our advise, don’t ever try to drive into city center, because of the traffic. we found that the Park and Ride was good, other than the car blocking our way. Actually, the most annoying thing that we found out after we got through the block, we were actually ont he wrong bus!!!

Yi Xuen’s First Day To School

September 11, 2007

YI Hong and Yi Xuen

Yi Xuen

11 September, 2007 –  Yi Xuen had started her Reception Class today!  She was full of confident and looked smart in her uniform. She told me that she felt like she was going to work.  She settled very well in school and I could leave her within 5  mins.

Teachers are really making effort to know the children and parent better. Mrs Carlin and Mrs Paynter came to our house for home visit yesterday.   They found out Yi Xuen likes Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and wish to see Emily in school.   When she stepped into the class this morning, the teachers had set up a tank of water with little mermaid toys inside.  They brought her to see Emily in Year 1 too.  I was very pleased and really appreciate their kindness.

Woburn Safari Park

September 2, 2007

29 August, 2007 – Jill (Joshua’s grandmum) had kindly invited us to the Woburn Safari Park. Safari Reserves, with their wide open spaces, provide the perfect habitat for the park’s animals to roam freely and behave naturally. She drove us through the reserves and each circuit took  between 15 to 20 minutes. We experienced the thrill of being right alongside White Rhino, Elephants, Camels, Tigers, Lions and Giraffes to name but a few. On the Navajo Trail we encountered bears and wolves running together, just as they would have in Britain around 1000 years ago. We also drove through Europe’s most diverse primate reserve, spotting three different types of Monkey. The Monkeys were running around and even hop on top of our car.  The Wild Word Leisure area is fantastic! So much to see, to learn, to play.
