Never Forget

September 30, 2008

26 Sep 2008 – This weekend I headed down to London together with 6 great British ladies for shopping, show, dinner and lot of drinks!!! There were a few ‘drama’ that make this trip more memorable. First, we nearly miss the train. Next, the hotel couldn’t find our booking and they were FULLY BOOKED. We were upset and worried. Luckily, it get sorted and we were compensated by a glass of wine, free transfer of our luggage to our new hotel, and got upgraded to EXECUTIVE ROOMS !!! Thanks to assertiveness of our British ladies.
We had a very nice dinner at a restaurant called Christopher before we went to the theatre and enjoyed the Take That Musical – NEVER FORGET. The dancing, costumes, effect (fire and rain) and singing was absolutely amazing, fantastic, entertaining and make me feel younger. During the last 10 minutes encore, we all stand up dancing and clapping.
Saturday was SHOP, SHOP, SHOP. Enjoy walking and shopping without husband and children. Well, I do miss them when……………. I’m not shopping. Evil laugh
Thanks Danny and girls for the great weekend.

We had a wonderful, wonderful weekend. Yi Hong and Danny went to watch a football match on Saturday. They enjoyed the live game, it’s atmosphere and Danny almost lost his voice. Later in the evening, we were invited to ‘Cookout’ at the Vandermyde. They prepared activities like football, rugby, flashlight tag, fire pit smores and more. The kids love it. This is one of the many many gathering of ISE group (Cat’s International Employee families based in Peterborough. Most of them are from America). I enjoyed every gathering, for good company and delicious American food… yum yum!
After weeks of shower, weather in this weekend was PERFECT, GORGEOUS, EXECELLENT!!! We went to the Rolinitis for BBQ on Sunday. They just moved here and their kids are in the same class as YH and YX. The children were playing so nicely and I hardly seen them around. Thanks Steve and Laurie for your warmest hospitality.

Back to School

September 3, 2008

3 Sep 08 – This is a ‘new’ year in school! YH is in Year 3 and YX in Year 1. Time passed so quickly, it seems like they just started playgroup yesterday!
We walked with the Dobberfuhl to school this morning. Yi Xuen and Amy are so adorable, they were holding hands and chit-chatting all the way to school. YH’s teacher is Ms Cornell, YX’s teacher is Mrs Stevens. It’s nice to see their friends as well as my friends again.

Good News! Bad News!

September 3, 2008

There were a lot of things happened for the past 1 week. Good news, bad news; Happy, Sad; Surprise, Shock; Up, Down. I suddenly think about LIFE!

Good News:
1. Roseline, my good friend & ex-colleague, had given birth to a beautiful baby girl, named Rachel. When I saw Roseline in Singapore on Mar, she was just 3 months pregnant and still slim and charming. I am so happy for her.
2. Corrina, a close friend of us in England, also given birth to a 8lbs baby boy – Harrison. He is such a cute baby with beautiful eyes, sharp nose and he will be a handsome ‘prince’ when he grown up. It’s a blessing to this loving, wonderful family.

Bad News:
1. A mum from our village school died after falling 200ft down a mountain during her family holiday. She was such a lovely, fun person. She couldn’t stop smiling when she talked about her 6 years old daughter. She was a keen supporter of the school and was an active joggers. People in the school and our village feel so sad about losing her.
2. A father of YH’s classmate collapsed last weekend and is in the hospital now. He is a healthy and fit person as I seen him running in the village quite often and he participated in Great Eastern Run last year. Why it happened to him????

I think this is what we called – LIFE! We should appreciate whatever we have, savour every moment, treasure every minutes with our loves one and tell them how much we love them.

Bye Bye Summer Holiday

September 1, 2008

6 weeks of Summer holiday will be finished in 2 more days. Why it gone so quickly?? I haven’t finised my holiday plan yet, ie Chinese lesson (only 1 or 2 times so far), spring clean (messier than before), YX’s spelling list, YH’s timetable, visit to Museum or Science Centre ……. Well, 6 weeks is NOT ENOUGH!!
YX has been looking forward to school because she wants to show her friends her new YO-TOY shoe (with little Daisy inside the shoe). YH said he CAN wait, he likes staying at home. To me, when I got frustrated with their argument, I would say “I can’t wait till school opens”. Well, deep inside my heart, I want them to stay with me, I love having them around. We will make pudding (dessert)/lunch together, go to the park, or they will sit on my lap and watch tv, come to kitchen and give hugs & kisses …. Oh, I will miss them. Don’t tell YH because he will be worried about me staying at home alone. I already feel that way when they start school, what if they get married!!!??? YH said he will stay single and YX said I can live with her and look after her children. See the sign?
