3 weeks ago, Yi Xuen said to me ‘Mummy, I want to tell you a very exciting news. I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!’
In her School, Year 1 class will re-enact a marriage ceremony every year as part of their Religious Education curriculum. Yi Xuen was lucky to be chosen as the bride.
She was in real wedding mood, as she would felt happy and excited one minute, anxious and worried another minute. She insisted that this was a ‘pretending wedding’ and she didn’t chose the groom.
I volunteered to bring some love shapes cookies for the reception even though I’ve never made cookies before. Luckily, I had Corrina came and helped me with the cookies and wedding veil. She ran back to her house several times to get ingredients. We’ve made about 70 beautiful, yummy cookies. Thanks Corrina!
In the wedding day, all year 1 students dressed very elegantly, playing different roles like bride, groom, parents, ushers, guests, etc. Parents were dressed up too and helped taking pictures, videos; grandmas’ made wedding cakes and bouquets.
Laurie helped taking pictures and she made it into a sweet and short video.

Year 1 Wedding
June 18, 2009Captured
June 18, 2009Laurie, one of our good friend, who is passionate about photography. She has recently set up a very very very cool website. We were lucky to be in part of it. She is a real professional and we had so much fun on that day. Danny had the biggest smile ever, even better than in our wedding photos. Thanks Laurie.
London Theatre
June 18, 2009One of the things that I’ve enjoyed in England was watching a show in West End. Last Saturday, Sarah, Corrina and I went for a girly day out. We started by taking an hour train to London. Then, we shopped at Primark, an Irish clothing retailer with competative prices. We came out with bagssss and didn’t realised how long we’ve been there. We had a light lunch in a cafe before going for a show. We watched ‘Dirty Dancing’, a girly show and it was totally spectacular. Love it.
We reached Peterborough around 8pm and went straight to the Beales. They were very kind to look after the kids and prepared BBQ for us. I had so much fun that day and was absolutely spoilt.
Airsoft
June 18, 2009Danny went for a battle with Simon, Kevin, Michael and friends last Sunday. I’m not too sure about the game but I know Danny came back with bruises and stung by stinging needles.
After that, we had a make up party at Simon and Sarah. BBQ in beautiful day with great friends. What else can we ask for.
Bronze Award
June 18, 2009In school, students were motivated by House Point system. House Points were given if they’ve done a good job in school and getting it was a big deal to them.
Yi Xuen has achieved House Points ‘Bronze Award’ for working hard in class, helpful and well mannered around school. Well done YX!
Yi Hong was awarded Bronze Award the following week. Proud of you !!!!

Danny’s Surprise 42th Birthday Party
June 18, 2009This year we had a surprise birthday party for Danny. I told Danny that we would go to Royal China (one of our favourite chinese restaurant) for a birthday, normal dinner. But, we took him by surprise when he saw our dear friends were waiting there and singing Birthday song. Danny was delighted and said this was one of the unforgettable birthday he ever had.
Simon & Sarah and the Dae’s got him a England rugby shirt, with ‘Wing Wong’ at the back. The nickname was given after he played football with 20 kids.
The Beales gave Danny a ‘Map of the World’ Fine Bone China Mug. They hope Danny would remember UK, and how far away from Malaysia and States. They were very thoughtful.
Dear friends, thanks so much for celebrating Danny’s Birthday and we will definately miss you all.
YX made a birthday card for Danny with lucky money inside.
YH also made a card, with barcode at the back.
Get Well Cards
June 18, 2009YH and YX had given me Get Well Cards when I was poorly (sick). It was cute and sweet.
Bath and Stonehendge
June 4, 2009Danny came back from Malaysia during mid half-term holiday. We decided to make a short trip to famous city of Bath, which is a World Heritage City.
It was more than 3 hours drive from our house. We followed Corrina’s suggestion, instead of ‘Jane’, and took a different route which would pass by some beautiful villages and towns. Bath is stunning. The city is situated among surrounding hill, in the valley of River Avon with rich architecture and full of history.
Our hotel was next to Bath Abbey and can access easily to shopping, restaurant and local attractions. The weather was amazingly hot in May, up to 24 degree. We tried to cool down by enjoying different flavour of Italian Ice Cream. At night, Danny couldn’t resist and had Thai curry 2 days in a row.
We also had experience with the local NHS (National Health Services – clinic) due to Danny’s gult problem and Yi Hong’s ear infection. They seems way more sophisticated and technology savvy than in Peterborough.
Roman Bath Bath is the location of Britain’s only natural hot springs where the Romans built baths and a temple. Much later, it became popular as a spa resort during the Georgian era, which led to a major expansion that left a heritage of exemplary Georgian architecture crafted from Bath Stone.
Edgar was crowned king of England at Bath Abbey in 973.

Cley Hill – we went up to the hill but was disappointing that we couldn’t see ‘white horse’ and ‘UFO’.
Stonehendge one of the seven wonders of the world in medieval times. 5000 years of history.
