Pembrokeshire, Wales

July 5, 2009

We started our journey by driven 5 hours to Wales. We were quite anxious as rain pouring heavily on the way there. Luckily, the rains stopped and followed by beautiful sunny and warm days for the rest of the weekend. We stayed at Harbour Light, a bed and breakfast guest house in Saunderfoot, 2 minutes walk to the beach. Saundersfoot has a large, sandy beach and very shallow water with a rock pools at low tide. We were told it is a good place for cockle picking and catching shellfish.

Morning walk from Braod Haven South to St Govan’s Head. Background is Stakepole Head. Our Target for the rest of the day walk!

Yi Hong’s Early Birthday

July 5, 2009

We’ve celebrated Yi Hong’s birthday 2 weeks earlier. We invited the Dea’s and the Rolinitis’s over for dinner as they would be in States during YH’s birthday party. Yi Hong took full advantage on this day and kept asking if he could have special treats, even though it’s not his actual birthday. The kids and the adults had so much fun. The Dea’s bought him his favourite football team, Manchester United’s Sport Kit, Wallet with GBP5 pocket money. He also received his favourite DS game and ‘Go-Go’ from the Rolinitis’s.
Yi Hong said he had all the presents he likes.

Cinderella Rockerfella

July 5, 2009

Every year, all Key Stage 2 students (Year 3 to 6) at Peakirk cum Glinton Primary School will perform a production at the end of school year. This year they’ve proudly presented the famous disney story of Cinderella with a twist, ‘Cinderella Rockefella’. Story was about Cinderella lived in a village with lots of fairies (both good and bad), ugly sisters and her best friends, Button. A famous singer, Rocky, had decided to quit entertainment business and settle down with the girl he loves. The story was almost the same but they added some interesting scenes like talent contest, naughty Kitty tried to posion Cinderella, Ballroom dance, making wedding cake, try and find a foot for the shoe, the Next Big Thing. Yi Hong was a paparazzi along with all the Year 3 boys. They had been practised very hard and they delievered a very good show, singing, dancing, acting. BRAVO!!!!

Year 1 Wedding

June 18, 2009

3 weeks ago, Yi Xuen said to me ‘Mummy, I want to tell you a very exciting news. I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!’
In her School, Year 1 class will re-enact a marriage ceremony every year as part of their Religious Education curriculum. Yi Xuen was lucky to be chosen as the bride.
She was in real wedding mood, as she would felt happy and excited one minute, anxious and worried another minute. She insisted that this was a ‘pretending wedding’ and she didn’t chose the groom.
I volunteered to bring some love shapes cookies for the reception even though I’ve never made cookies before. Luckily, I had Corrina came and helped me with the cookies and wedding veil. She ran back to her house several times to get ingredients. We’ve made about 70 beautiful, yummy cookies. Thanks Corrina!
In the wedding day, all year 1 students dressed very elegantly, playing different roles like bride, groom, parents, ushers, guests, etc. Parents were dressed up too and helped taking pictures, videos; grandmas’ made wedding cakes and bouquets.
Laurie helped taking pictures and she made it into a sweet and short video.

June 18, 2009

Laurie, one of our good friend, who is passionate about photography. She has recently set up a very very very cool website. We were lucky to be in part of it. She is a real professional and we had so much fun on that day. Danny had the biggest smile ever, even better than in our wedding photos. Thanks Laurie.

London Theatre

June 18, 2009

One of the things that I’ve enjoyed in England was watching a show in West End. Last Saturday, Sarah, Corrina and I went for a girly day out. We started by taking an hour train to London. Then, we shopped at Primark, an Irish clothing retailer with competative prices. We came out with bagssss and didn’t realised how long we’ve been there. We had a light lunch in a cafe before going for a show. We watched ‘Dirty Dancing’, a girly show and it was totally spectacular. Love it.
We reached Peterborough around 8pm and went straight to the Beales. They were very kind to look after the kids and prepared BBQ for us. I had so much fun that day and was absolutely spoilt.

Airsoft

June 18, 2009

Danny went for a battle with Simon, Kevin, Michael and friends last Sunday. I’m not too sure about the game but I know Danny came back with bruises and stung by stinging needles.
After that, we had a make up party at Simon and Sarah. BBQ in beautiful day with great friends. What else can we ask for.

Danny’s Surprise 42th Birthday Party

June 18, 2009

This year we had a surprise birthday party for Danny. I told Danny that we would go to Royal China (one of our favourite chinese restaurant) for a birthday, normal dinner. But, we took him by surprise when he saw our dear friends were waiting there and singing Birthday song. Danny was delighted and said this was one of the unforgettable birthday he ever had.
Simon & Sarah and the Dae’s got him a England rugby shirt, with ‘Wing Wong’ at the back. The nickname was given after he played football with 20 kids.

The Beales gave Danny a ‘Map of the World’ Fine Bone China Mug. They hope Danny would remember UK, and how far away from Malaysia and States. They were very thoughtful.
